Uninstalling Internet Explorer® 7 (Windows® XP)
Websites or programs may experience difficulties with the new Internet Explorer® 7. Uninstalling Internet Explorer® 7 and reverting back to Internet Explorer® 6 may resolve these difficulties. Consult the remainder of this technical note for additional information.
Complete the following steps to uninstall Internet Explorer® 7:
  1. Click the Start button and select Control Panel. A Control Panel window will appear.
  2. Double-click on the Add or Remove Programs icon. An Add or Remove Programs window will appear and a list of installed programs will display.
  3. Locate Windows Internet Explorer 7 and click once to highlight then choose the Remove button. The Windows Internet Explorer 7 removal wizard will launch.
  4. Click Next to continue. The removal process will begin. A removal confirmation message will display.
    Note: A message box may appear listing the programs that have been installed after Internet Explorer® 7. Click Yes to continue.
  5. Click Finish to complete the removal process. The computer will be restarted.
